I’ve been using KIEHLS “Line Reducing Eye Brightening Concentrate’ Cream for the last couple of months cause I’ve got really bad dark eye circles. The salesman recommended me this product citing that he uses the product too. (obviously i’m not stupid to believe his sales cock talk!) But I bought it anyway cause it’s really time to use facial products at my age

This product is a FAIL for me!

It did not do anything at all for me. I spent a whopping RM169 for this little piece of crap that says ‘Clinically Demonstrated’ on who? On a human being or some poor animal? Not only the product was useless, on certain occasions when you squeeze the tube; some transparent water will come out. Disgusting. The actual product suppose to be like yellowish white cream.

Couple of weeks ago, I formatted my Lenovo mini laptop cause it was super slow and I don’t know what crap I’ve downloaded so the renewed Lenovo seems a little faster! Currently installing my new Kaspersky 2011 on all computers! Sick and tired of trojans and viruses!!!

Initially, I wanted to format my Dell PC but the poor PC has too many things to format. I’m so scared I forget to back up something. Plus, reinstall Vista or XP?

Then helped to crack Vaio’s Windows login. No password. Asked a friend and recommended Offline NT Password & Registry Editor. At first, I was sceptical about it cause I didn’t really have the sufficient knowledge on how to deal with these things. But it was really as similar as formatting a PC.

You can soon watch MOVIES on YOUTUBE by pay-per-view movies! Ya don’t have to buy dvds anymore or download pirated crap. This is the new age era on watching live streaming movie. I wonder how this will specifically be done? What if your connection is slow or can you watch it again and again?

According to reports, YouTube will roll out its streaming movie rental service by the end of the year. But will it sell with the masses?

Millions of people log-on to YouTube everyday to watch silly cat videos. Will those same people log-on to watch pay-per-view movies? This morning, the Financial Times reported that “Google’s YouTube video site is in negotiations with Hollywood’s leading movie studios to launch a global pay-per-view video service by the end of 2010.”

The service has been in beta testing since the beginning of the year and is said to have “caused excitement in Hollywood” where movie studios are struggling to come up with ways to replace dwindling revenues from DVD sales. Google’s movie rental product would compete directly with similar services from Netflix, Apple, Hulu and Amazon.com, among others.

Many users don’t realize it, but YouTube actually already has a Movies section on the website. The majority of the movies they have available are terrible (Baby Geniuses is probably the best one there, if that tells you anything), but the quality of the streaming quality is actually quite high. Assuming that’s the base level from which YouTube is working, I’d be willing to bet that the website’s eventual pay-per-view service will be more than capable of competing with the more established services.

In both cases, Hollywood is looking to make the most money possible. It’s actually brilliant if you think about it. They know that there will always be people willing to go out to see a movie, but they’re hedging their bets by appealing to our innate laziness with the streaming technology.

Hopefully, Youtube will provide an affordable price to watch movies online. I hate lining up for movie tickets, getting stuck in a jam and not able to bring my favourite food inside the cinema i.e. hot wings with cheesie nachos

I wonder what will happen to romantic dinners cum movie!? I suppose the Youtube movies appeals to married people and long term couples who are bored to do the whole dinner/movie thing! Besides, you save a lot of money!

From Thomas Edison and Winston Churchill to Bill Clinton and George Costanza, the nap has had many famous champions. And with good reason. Ever since sleep scientist David Dinges helped found the modern science of napping in the early ’80s at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, short periods of sleep have been shown to improve alertness, memory, motor skills, decision-making, and mood. All while cutting down on stress, carelessness, and even heart disease.

With Americans averaging fewer than seven hours of sleep per night—and around 20 percent suffering from sleepiness during the day, according to a recent Stanford University study—many companies have turned to the humble nap in an attempt to stave off billions in lost productivity each year. Following the rise of workplace perks like lactation rooms, gyms, and child-care facilities, Nike workers now have access to nap-friendly "quiet rooms" that can also be used for meditation. Google, a forerunner in employee perks, has a number of futuristic napping pods scattered throughout its Mountain View (Calif.) campus.

Jawa, a small mobile technology company in Scottsdale, Ariz., has two resting rooms—one with a similar pod, the other with an old-fashioned couch—that are popular among programmers working long hours. Many airlines, including Continental and British Airways, allow pilots to sleep during long international flights while colleagues take over the controls. (The practice is prohibited for domestic flights by the Federal Aviation Administration.) Other companies, such as Ben & Jerry’s, have no official policy but provide unofficial space for the practice and don’t bat an eye when someone spends an extra half hour snoozing in the massage room. "If you have employees working 16-hour days, you want to give them an opportunity to take a power nap," says Melissa Gierginger, a spokeswoman for Jawa.

Other companies have opted to outsource their daytime sleeping solutions. Yelo, a napping spa in midtown Manhattan, has provided its services to Hearst, Newsweek, and Time Warner. It offers naps in a "cocoon-like" treatment room in which clients can adjust aromatherapy, sound, and lighting. A 20-minute nap goes for $15. (A half-hour "Nap Plus"—including a 10-minute foot rub—costs $40.)

"Over the last few years, there’s been a lot of focus on exercise and nutrition, but adequate sleep is arguably the most important element of productivity," says Christopher Lindholst, co-founder of MetroNaps, which markets a napping chair called the EnergyPod to such companies as Google, Procter & Gamble, and Cisco Systems. The EnergyPod, which looks like Pacman with a really long tongue, boasts ergonomic support and a built-in music system with a headphone jack to eliminate background noise. "The EnergyPod is designed to provide some privacy, but it’s typically installed in a common area so you create an environment of awareness and acceptance," says Lindholst. MetroNaps rents its EnergyPod for $795 per month.

"Tiny naps are much more refreshing than people tend to realize," said Jim Horne, director of the Sleep Research Centre at Loughborough University in England. "A short nap in the afternoon will get rid of sleepiness without interfering with nighttime sleep." That said, it’s best not to depend on napping as a permanent replacement for lost sleep. "On occasion it will get you over the hump, but whether it gets you back to peak is an open question," says Dr.

Roger Rosa, a senior scientist at the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health. "If you’ve lost an hour of your previous night’s sleep, a nap may be just the ticket. If you’ve been up all night, it may give you a hangover effect" known as "sleep inertia."

According to Dr. Sara Mednick, a professor of psychiatry at the University of California at San Diego, not all naps are created equal. Mednick believes that naps weighted toward different stages of the sleep cycle confer different benefits. "If you do physical labor, you need more Stage 2 sleep," says Mednick. "If you are doing memorization or verbal work, you need more slow-wave sleep. And if you do creative or visual work, you need more REM sleep."

Dr. Mednick has devised an "Optimized Napping Formula" so ambitious nappers can maximize the desired phase of sleep. Napping newbies can purchase a device called Zeo ($199), which promises to track your sleep cycles for you via your brainwaves with a special headband. Those looking for a simpler contraption might prefer the Dream Helmet ($29.95), which serves as mask, pillow, and earplugs all at once.

Some researchers are skeptical about efforts to cultivate a given phase of sleep. "On a practical level, all a person can choose is how long they sleep," says Dr. Rosa. "You can’t change the pace of the sleep cycle without sleep deprivation, which would be counterproductive." A strict dozing regimen, such as the kind employed by sailboat racers, military pilots, and astronauts, can replace nocturnal sleep altogether for a limited time. Leonardo da Vinci experimented with erratic sleep schedules, but it wasn’t until the early 1980s that Italian researcher Claudio Stampi invented "polyphasic ultrashort sleep," which breaks up the day into several equal sections, each of which ends with a brief nap. As long as these mini "days" are kept intact, one can then whittle the naps down to as little as two hours of sleep per 24 hours—at least according to research published in Stampi’s 1992 book, Why We Nap.

Such daring sleep habits are not for everybody. "Going ultrashort is like running a marathon or climbing Mount Everest," writes Dr. Mednick in her book, Take a Nap! Change Your Life. "You need careful training and a generous period of recovery." However, the simple "productivity nap" does hold an undeniable appeal for time-crunched workers. Most sleep experts welcome the consequent uptick in nap-friendliness at work, though some are leery of its unintended consequences. "It can get out of hand: If you start encouraging the workforce to sleep in the afternoon, you’re encouraging them to have late nights," says Horne. "Our society is getting more used to napping in the workplace, but it is still seen as something that could get you fired."

Do’s and Dont’s of Dozing

Napping at work has become acceptable at some companies. Yet pulling off a "productivity nap" at the office isn’t easy. Here are suggestions from sleep scientist Dr. Sara Mednick, author of Take a Nap! Change Your Life.

1. Make Time and Space

Twenty to 30 minutes is all you need to reap the rewards of midday slumber. The best time is the early afternoon when your body is tired—so consider reserving the second half of your lunch break for shut-eye. If your employer doesn’t have a nap room, a yoga mat beats a bathroom stall, though the most comfortable option may be a parked car.

2. Set the Proper Conditions

In the dark our brains produce more of the sleep-inducing hormone melatonin, so close the blinds, turn off the lights, and consider using a sleeping mask. Keep the temperature on the warmer side. If you must nap sitting up, use a travel pillow to avoid the dreaded "nap nod." And don’t forget to turn off your cell phone.

3. Careful With the Chemicals

Avoid caffeine for a few hours before a nap. The same goes for nicotine, diet pills, and antidepressants. Although alcohol makes it easier to nod off during the day, it interferes with sleep and should also be avoided. Refined sugars and carbs may keep you up, but meat, dairy, and some nuts have tryptophan, which our bodies break down into melatonin.

First, there were money scammers through ambiguous marketing schemes which I’m not going to highlight what! Second, came the religion or ‘bomoh’ (otherwise known as witchcraft) scammers… then we have online shopping scammers! But the best one I just recently found out has got to take the cake is the ‘JOB SCAMMER’.

To cut the story short on my investigation…

Job Scammers are people you don’t meet face to face! These people will ask you to go do something or work on something and when you have finish the job, they won’t pay you! I present to you the company ‘X’. They claim they are from Germany but actually they are from India (based on forum research). Not surprise.
X is a mystery shopping concept job where you can shop and get paid. This is meant for database purpose. For example, they will ask you to go to Mcdonalds to survey the site, buy a meal etc… and you will have to answer some Q&A survey after the site visit. You will send the report to them and wait for your payment.
People who signed up for this job has got 1 or 2 payments received from the company. But some even none! The payment they received also is less than what they were promised. Eventually, some shoppers just gave up and started to question about the company through forums.

I decided to do a check on this company and it was very odd that they requested for copies of my IC, Driving License and even my Passport! That is probably the last thing you want to do by sending your images of Passport is extremely dangerous! I decided not to go forward with my investigation but this kind of job scamming is relatively new.

So let me just warn you… this company had already landed their scamming scheme in Malaysia and they are posting for job availabilities in Jobstreet:

There was a huge debate among forums on this big scam and I notice the company was defending themselves stating that they are genuine and also registered themselves many times on the forum with different nicknames claiming that the company did pay them. If you read the different nicknames, you will see that each nickname claiming that the company has paid them, has only submitted 1 post in the forum. Where else the others who complained were regulars at the forum with many posts.

The whole process sounded really fishy to me! So I sent a notice to Jobstreet asking them to do a verification of the company or remove the company from their listing before we Malaysians or anyone else gets caught in this scam entanglement! Please inform your friends, family etc about this scam!

I totally forgot to blog about my last 2 weeks ago on Steak Fajitas and Yogurt Dip recipe! I whipped up a simple meal with tortilla wraps for dinner. It’s relatively healthy and delicious except that I overcooked my lamb a little. Below are some of the photos I shot while cooking… (just in case if you didn’t know what Dill or mint looks like!!)

RECIPE FOR YOGURT DIP!

Ingredients:

• 1-1/2 cups Yogurt
• 3 Tbsp. chopped fresh dill
• 2 Tbsp. chopped fresh mint
• 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
• 1 to 2 cloves garlic, minced
• Salt and cracked black pepper
• Fresh dill sprigs
• Assorted vegetables! (e.g. radish, carrots, tomatoes)

Directions:
In bowl, stir together yogurt, dill, mint, chives, juice, garlic, and salt. Let stand 15 minutes or refrigerate up to 12 hours. Season with salt and black pepper. Top with dill sprig. Serve with assorted vegetables. Cover and refrigerate leftovers; stir well before serving.

RECIPE FOR STEAK FAJITAS!

Ingredients:

• 2 12-ounce skirt steaks, each halved
• 3 tablespoons fresh lime juice, divided
• 1 large onion, halved lengthwise, thinly sliced
• 4 large garlic cloves, pressed
• 1 tablespoon ground cumin
• 1 teaspoon finely grated lime peel
• 2 tablespoons olive oil
• 12 cherry tomatoes
• warm flour or corn tortillas

Preparation:

• Arrange steaks in 13x9x2-inch glass baking dish; sprinkle with salt and pepper. Combine 2 tablespoons lime juice and next 5 ingredients in medium bowl. Pour onion mixture over steaks; turn to coat evenly. Let marinate 10 minutes.
• Heat oil in large nonstick skillet over high heat. Add steaks with onion mixture. Cook steaks 1 minute per side. Add tomatoes and basil. Continue cooking steaks to desired doneness, turning occasionally, about 3 minutes longer for medium-rare. Sprinkle mixture with 1 tablespoon lime juice. Cook 1 minute longer to blend flavors. Transfer steaks to work surface. Cut across grain on slight diagonal into 1/2-inch-thick strips. Transfer fajitas to bowl and serve with tortillas.

 

I would give myself a rating of 6/10 for this recipe cause I under seasoned the beef a little. However, the yogurt dip was surprisingly easy to eat considering it’s a healthy dish. I would definitely cook this again with more seasonings especially with the cumin powder and lemon juice! *yumz*

This event happened in China, Ju Jia Qiao Rd, close Pudong Avenue. A Chinese girl witnessed a dog being killed on the side of the road while she hears the dog crying being beaten to death. She photographed the incident that happened 3 months back but there was nothing she could do.

The following events that happened to this dog is very gruesome. I suggest that you should think twice before reading….

We all know that any animals that walks on fours are food to the Chinese in China but killing an animal like that is seriously barbaric.

The following images are very blur but you can make out what’s happening on all 4 photographs! Warning: images are quite graphic even though they are blur!

You can see that the dog is lying down with his tail up, not knowing what’s going to happen. The Chinese man is about the beat the dog with a stick.

After beating it to death, He walks off.

He squats down and pokes the dog with his stick. Probably to check if it’s alive?

Finally, another helper came along and poured water over the dog to clean the blood to be skinned. Everyone just stood there like it’s nothing. Starring at the poor dog. (as you can see, there’s a Chinese lady starring at how they are going to skin the dead dog)

I love animals and knowing things like these are happening, frightens me. The worst part is that this barbaric event is being done in the eyes of the public for everyone to see. Like it’s no big deal! Can you imagine your neighbour beating a cow to death on your main street so it can prepare for dinner? It’s no surprise that the Chinese people are doing all sorts of brutal actions to animals. Now, we know why animal abuse is very high in China because this is ‘normal’ to them. This is not abuse to them. Animals are food to them. So long it doesn’t speak the human language, these living creatures will be treated like it does not feel pain or emotions.

Another SHOCKING STORY FROM CHINA ON EXPERIMENTING DOGS IN MEDICAL SCHOOLS!!!!!!!

This poor little handsome white dog is being experimented on! 

How much CRUEL can CHINA BE if this still persists and yet PEOPLE ARE NOT DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT! HAVE THEY NOT HEARD, A DOG IS A MAN’S BEST FRIEND!?

They are experimental/test dogs for the medical school. They need to go under the knife 4 times, suffering 4 surgeries, with the last surgery excising their pancreas, ending their lives as quoted by a Chinese fellar. I assume he/she is a student in the medical school!

ANIMAL TESTING SHOULD BE BAN IN LABORATORIES! THEY SHOULD ALSO BE BANNED IN MEDICAL SCHOOLS! THIS IS BEYOND BARBARIC! THESE ‘QUALIFIED’ LECTURERS ARE TEACHING STUDENTS TO HAVE NOT EMOTIONS AND KILL THE DOGS SO THAT THEY CAN LEARN. IMAGINE, IF THAT IS YOUR DOCTOR? WOULD YOU WANT TO BE OPERATED BY SOMEONE LIKE THAT? TRAINED TO BE A KILLER??

Professionally trained surgeons are teaching young students in college to operate on animals that are still healthy and well. They are lecturing these students how to be KILLERS! It is no wonder that animals are being abused in many ways in China like my last entry on Xixi The Foshan Dog!

Facebook, Apologize to Animal Welfare community for allowing graphic violence from Care2 Article by Rescues and Private Individuals Worldwide.

On August 8th, 2010, a group called,  Dile Si Al Maltrato, was allowed to remain up and running on Facebook for over 24 hours.  On this group, graphic pictures were shown of animals being fought, tortured and killed.

First their profile picture showed them hanging a puppy and then later they showed pictures of them stabbing and crushing the same puppy.  Then there were dog fighting pictures that and other pictures of dogs dismembered with smiling people laughing and drinking and encouraging the violence.

For several hours, hundreds and thousands of reports where being sent to Facebook demanding this site be removed.  This group was on long enough to show several graphic pictures hours apart.   This group even was on long enough to celebrate their 200th fan by killing a German Shepard Dog.  There were pictures of the dog alive with an announcement that he was their next victim and then SEVERAL minutes later the dog was shown dead.

Even after that they were allowed to continue and posted pictures of their next victim, whom they announced they were going to torture for a minimum of 30 minutes.  The victim was a small obviously frightened brown dog, looking pathetically at the person taking the picture, while another boy was laughing holding the dogs head in his hands.  You could obviously see in the picture that they had already started to torture this animal as it had an open wound on its thigh and something that looked like a stick stuck in the wound.  SEVERAL minutes later there was a picture shown of a dog obviously in distress with a human penis in it’s mouth and some text underneath talking about how they quiet dogs.  THANKFULLY after that is was shut down, BUT…..

It took OVER 20 HOURS before Facebook took down the site.

THOUSANDS of Facebook members, sources of revenue for Facebook Advertisers are appalled and  offended by what was allowed to happen today. FB should be held accountable for what we saw and address why they allowed it to happen. NO EXCUSES!

There have even been reports that this group has been pulled from Facebook before.  If this is true and Facebook did not assist the legal authorities in the country where this site is coming from, then that is not acceptable and Facebook needs to correct this loophole.  How can we ensure something like this isn’t allowed to happen to children or minorities in the future.

Please sign this petition. Facebook owes the rescue community a public apology, an explanation on how they will stop this from happening in the future AND a LARGE DONATION to rescue/abuse groups worldwide.

Facebook also needs to explain how they will implement  safeguards  to immediately shut down such obviously outright graphic violence AND have a process to immediately notify the legal authorities in the area of the crime, so that arrests are made and criminals are brought to justice. FACEBOOK TAKE A STAND!

Facebook seeks out advertising just like any other media.  We need Facebook know that we will and can boycott their advertising revenue if they do not address this petition.  There are ten’s of thousands of animal advocates on Facebook and together we can have a voice and affect a change……PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION!
